Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical Construction

Are you a recent graduate ready to take your degree from the classroom to the jobsite? Walker White Mechanical is growing and looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team. If you have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction , a sharp mind for planning, and a strong desire to grow in the mechanical contracting industry—this role was built with you in mind.

What You'll Do:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work alongside seasoned professionals to support mechanical contracting projects from kickoff to closeout. Your days may include:

• Assisting with project scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
• Reviewing plans and specifications
• Performing takeoffs and supporting estimates
• Helping manage job cost reports, RFIs, submittals, and documentation
• Supporting on-site field coordination with superintendents and subcontractors
• Communicating with vendors, clients, and internal team members
• Learning project management practices from the ground up

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Required)
• Internship or co-op experience in the construction or mechanical trades preferred, but not required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software is a plus
• Eagerness to grow within a supportive, fast-paced team environment
