Join a dynamic team within the Enterprise Compliance, Risk, and Governance (ECRG) Office, where you’ll collaborate with professionals across the organization to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.

As a Compliance & Risk Officer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing CalPERS’ Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of strategic planning, risk management, and compliance oversight for one of the nation’s largest pension funds.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead enterprise risk assessments, enhancing frameworks and tools, analyzing data, and recommending strategies aligned with CalPERS’ objectives.
  • Identify and address control weaknesses, develop risk-specific mitigation plans, and track issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring and assurance reviews, providing insights and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory change management by identifying new legal requirements and ensuring compliance across business lines.
  • Collaborate on risk management efforts, evaluating prevention measures and recommending improvements.
  • Contribute to special projects and prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership and the CalPERS Board.
