In this role, you will not only be responsible for the successful estimation of commercial electrical projects but will also play a key role in business development. You will be actively involved in identifying new opportunities, generating leads, and building relationships with potential clients prior to the estimation phase. Responsibilities:

• Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and relationship-building with potential clients.
• Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's footprint in the commercial electrical sector.
• Preparing accurate, detailed electrical estimates and bids for commercial projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Creating and presenting comprehensive, professional proposals to clients, ensuring clarity and transparency in scope, timelines, and costs.
• Cultivating relationships with potential clients to generate new business opportunities and collaborating with the sales management to identify leads and convert them into successful projects.
• Understanding client needs, reviewing project specifications, and determining project requirements, while working with the project management team to ensure estimations align with scope and budget.
• Ensuring all electrical proposals comply with local codes and regulations, maintaining safety standards across all estimates and project executions.
• Providing exceptional customer service to clients, addressing their questions and concerns throughout the estimation process, and maintaining communication to build long-lasting relationships with key clients.
• Working closely with internal installation teams, including designers, engineers, and technicians, to ensure that all electrical systems meet project specifications.
• Staying up to date with industry trends, electrical codes, and market rates to provide the most accurate and competitive estimates.

Qualifications:

• At least five (5) years of experience in electrical estimation, with a focus on commercial projects. Experience in HVAC estimation is a plus.
• Proven experience in business development and sales within the commercial electrical sector, with a track record of successfully generating leads, building client relationships, and driving new business opportunities before estimation.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including lighting design, backup generation, and general electrical infrastructure. Knowledge of relevant local and national electrical codes is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail in estimating, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all bids and proposals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams, and present proposals clearly and persuasively.
• Familiarity with electrical estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with project management tools is an advantage.
• Ability to identify issues and provide cost-effective solutions that meet client requirements.
• A valid electrical license is preferred. A professional certification in estimating (e.g., AACE, or equivalent) is a plus.
• A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
