Fox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

NEWS PHOTOJOURNALIST (Full-time, Regular)

FOX 9/KMSP-TV wants you to join our award winning team of photojournalist/editors. Innovative, state-of-the-art storytelling through shooting and editing should be a part of your DNA.

You’ll have:

• A well-varied skill set in shooting and editing daily news on deadline, as well as long form material.
• A thirst to use the latest cutting-edge video, editing and live technology.
• A desire to collaborate with reporters and newscast producers to win all your stories with dynamic shooting and edgy editing.

Job Highlights:

• Use of different camera and media formats to apply techniques appropriately to each story.
• Highly skilled in Edius editing, After Effects, Bitcentral, Panasonic, Sony cameras, and iNews.
• Utilize drones to provide cinematic perspectives and enhanced visual experiences.
• Drone camera operator training for Part 107 pilots.
• Operate Live U packs.
• Assignments include breaking news, investigative features, sports events, and political news.
• Daily collaboration with reporters, editors, managers, and other staff members.
• Participate in editorial, department, and station meetings.
• Think critically under pressure and work professionally on individual assignments and as part of a cohesive team.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring

• Excellent photography, lighting, audio, non-linear editing, and computer skills
• Strong communication skills and good judgement
• Creative and detail oriented

• Ability to take direction and work under deadline pressure. Consistently display a professional demeanor with the ability to stay cool under pressure.

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. be able to do so while walking long distances
• HS Diploma (or equivalent). Vocational/technical school or Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a news photojournalist. Mid to major market preferred.

FOX 9/ FOX 9+  is a 24/7 operation. Candidates must have flexibility in scheduling evenings, early mornings, weekends as well as working all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment. Must be able to work overtime, holidays, and varied hours. Candidate will be required to join the I.B.E.W. local 292 union.
