Job Overview:
The Professional Coding Provider Educator is responsible for developing and delivering coding and documentation education to Medical Group physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and staff across all RWJBH medical centers. Education may be provided in response to compliance initiatives, onboarding needs, proactive training, or regulatory and coding updates. The Educator collaborates with Coding Leadership and the System Professional Provider Education Coding Manager to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction aligned with current guidelines and organizational goals.
The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM guidelines, stays current with quarterly and annual coding updates, and researches new guidance to respond accurately to coding-related inquiries. Education is delivered in person or remotely, and attendance records are maintained and submitted to management at regular intervals.
The selected candidate for the Professional Coding Provider Educator must be prepared to engage in cross-functional duties aligned with organizational priorities and leadership guidance. These may include conducting and/or supporting medical record audits, researching guidelines and regulatory sources, supporting coding operations and contributing to administrative functions as needed.
