About Large Power System Division (LPSD)

We design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains.

Job Summary:

The Mapleton Foundry is looking to hire Quality Specialists! As a Quality Specialist at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform a variety of inspection functions to check the quality and

accuracy of in-process parts, assemblies, materials, prime products and gages released to production.

What you will do (including but not limited to):

- Audits and analyzes data where quality of work produced is poor or erratic

Initiates or recommends changes

- Inspects and accepts or rejects all purchased gages or gaging equipment

Repairs gage and certifies results when required.

Lays out parts using advanced mathematical calculations and precision inspection equipment to properly check dimensions and relationships

Checking fixtures (including machine setups when required)

Utilize master gages, measuring equipment and electrical assemblies

Basic Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Operations
• Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
• Walk, squat, and bend over for intervals at a time
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Meticulous and analytical nature
• Ability to work various shifts and flexible hours

**Top candidates will also have: **

• Ability to perform basic math and simple computer operations

Additional Information:

• Positions start as supplemental (40 or more hours per week but with no holiday pay and limited benefits) on 2nd or 3rd shift

Salary Range

- $26.66- $32.77
