Job Description

Must have 2 years inpatient and outpatient experience. IBLCE certification required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Registered Nurses that are part of the Lactation team support breastfeeding birthing persons on postpartum unit, L&D and Neonatal ICU. As an RN in the Maternal Child Health/Lactation Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)  
  • Must have 2 years inpatient and outpatient experience combined (community experience will be considered).
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
  • Experience with electronic health record preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. 
  • Basic computer proficiency. 
  • Fluency in another language a plus.
