Join Our Team at Savilino - Custom Sewing & Design

Savilino is a growing custom sewing business with over 10 years of experience creating one-of-a-kind uniforms, upholstery, leather menus, check presenters, and more for the hospitality industry in Austin, Texas and beyond. We’ve recently relocated to Cooperstown, NY and are now based in Middlefield-just 14 minutes from Cooperstown’s Main Street and 9 minutes from Cherry Valley’s Main Street.

Our work has been featured in magazines and newspapers, and we’ve earned a strong reputation in Austin as well as nationally and internationally. We’re proud to serve some of the world’s most renowned restaurants, cafés, theaters, and hotels. Savilino was founded and built by Chris Savittiere, who has poured a decade of dedication and energy into the business. We’ve been fully operational in New York since May, with two long-time employees who moved with us from Austin. We’re currently a team of four and operate in a close-knit, family-style environment. Our workshop is located on Chris and his wife’s property, just a short walk from their home.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday-Thursday, with three-day weekends.
• Hours: Flexible; full-time is typically 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. Part time is an option with shorter shifts.
• Benefits: Paid holidays, vacation accrual, and paid sick days. (Please note: health insurance is not yet offered).

What You’ll Do (immediately and eventually):

• Sew a variety of items including aprons, vests, serving jackets, polos, and dresses.
• Follow and create sewing patterns (training available if you have basic skills).
• Assist with ordering supplies, maintaining spreadsheets, and managing inventory.
• Support creative marketing efforts; social media skills are a plus.
• Communicate with clients, providing updates and ensuring high-quality service.
• Grow with us: start with sewing, then expand into operations, with the potential to develop into an Assistant and eventually a Manager role.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Sewing skills are a MUST (basic to advanced; we’ll train the right person). All other skills are a plus:
• Creativity and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Comfort with social media and creative marketing.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a small team environment.

We’re excited to grow in upstate New York and are looking for someone who is eager to learn, adaptable, and ready to take on a role that will expand over time. Pay is dependent on experience and amount of skillset.
