Job Description

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is responsible for driving all aspects of go-to-market and sales, ensuring revenue accountability while leveraging best practices from other business units. This role ensures alignment between Sales, Presales, Marketing, Client Support, and Partnerships to deliver sustainable profitable growth. The CRO will partner with the extended Senior Leadership Team to define and execute strategies that support the company’s long-term objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Build, Inspire, mentor, a high-performing team that integrates sales, customer care, marketing and partnerships into a strategic structure.
  • Provide roadmap for success in a high-growth, fast-paced technology environment, leading at scale.
  • Offer a strategic, visionary presence to influence senior executives and illustrate growth and operational strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners and industry influencers.
  • Champion customer-centric initiatives to improve retention and satisfaction.

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Use industry insights, data models and market trends to identify new market opportunities, partnerships and revenue streams.
  • Develop value-enhancing product and sales partnerships that extend Deluxe’s reach in the B2B Payments marketplace.
  • Establish and execute growth strategy across multiple revenue channels and product offerings to achieve growth targets and profitability goals.
  • Build a dynamic sales and marketing organization to best leverage Deluxe’s B2B payments solutions to mid-market and larger clients.
  • Convert Revenue Analytics, Forecasting and Performance Management to maximize conversation rates, accelerate deal velocity and optimize customer value.

Cross-functional Alignment and Delivery

  • Build a synchronized strategy across Marketing, Pre-Sales, Sales, Client Support and Partnerships to optimize sales growth and sustained retention.
  • Partner with product teams to influence roadmap priorities that enhance customer acquisition, retention and expansion.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Solution Management to optimize pricing, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop scalable processes and systems that support continued growth trajectory.
  • Use excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to influence senior executives.

Revenue accountability

  • Align the budgets of Marketing, Pre-Sales, Sales, Client Support and Partnerships in a single strategy to optimize revenue.
  • Assess implications of market trends, industry needs and emerging opportunities to ensure Deluxe B2B is financially poised to maximize segment growth.
  • Stay abreast of global industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies and adjust resources to capture new and existing opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field and 15+ years' of experience in a multi-channel sales strategy organization OR
  • High School Diploma and 19+ years' of experience in a multi-channel sales strategy organization
  • 8+ years of growing leadership responsibility
  • 12+ years of Banking/FI or Payments industry experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in revenue-focused roles.
  • Proven track record in multi-channel sales strategy, pricing, and market expansion.
  • 12+ years of experience in technology, SaaS, or financial services sectors.
  • Proven expertise in digital transformation and data-driven revenue models.

This position requires local and/or air travel and may be needed >50% of the time. Typical work hours will mirror a typical office workday and could exceed 40 hours per week.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $225,000.00 - $250,000.00 annually. This position will be eligible for commission or an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
