Job Title: Website Designer

Job Location: Downtown Houston, TX 77002 *Prospective candidates MUST be located in the HOUSTON, TX area.

Job Type: Contract/Full-Time (Hybrid) *The duration of this contract role is 12-months.

Job Schedule: Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM (4-days onsite/1-day WFH)

Job Salary: $25-$30/hour *Depending on experience.

Project Overview

The   Creative Team   is seeking a   Website Designer   to support the growing number of website requests being submitted within the company. Projects vary in scope and deliverables, requiring a resource capable of adapting to a range of design needs across multiple departments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define   UI/UX   and   branding   requirements for departmental websites and web applications.
  • Improve the   usability ,   usefulness , and   desirability   of websites through collaboration with graphic designers, product managers, engineering staff, and other web designers.
  • Work closely with a project team of web developers to implement UI design elements using   HTML ,   CSS , and   JavaScript .
  • Support the design group in enhancing the overall appeal and functionality of the organization’s online presence.

Scheduled Milestones & Deliverables

Milestones will be determined by the   Resource Manager   and   Project Manager , based on the candidate’s assigned tasks and responsibilities. Expected deliverables include:

  • Design and development of user interface features, site animations, and special-effect elements.
  • Design and full-lifecycle development of   interactive, responsive websites   using various   web content management platforms .
  • Contribution to   content creation and editing   to support website delivery projects.

Performance Metrics

The resource's performance will be measured based on:

  • Timely   delivery of designed elements
  • Quality and complexity   of graphic and web development
  • Efficiency   in time and task management
  • Collaboration   and contribution within a team environment

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Website Designer or similar role

  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch)

  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript 

  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

  • Familiarity with SEO principles and web performance optimization

  • Knowledge of UI/UX and branding requirements

  • Ability to translate business needs into functional and visually appealing websites

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix, Drupal, Shopify)

  • Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva

  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and usability best practices

  • Knowledge of basic back-end web technologies (e.g., PHP, MySQL) is a plus

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 2+ years of professional experience in website design or front-end development
